Biological characteristics
The Decellularized Dermis derived from donors is a biological product of tissue engineering consisting of dermis that undergoes to decellularization process patented at Skin Bank ERR in collaboration with Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute. This treatment is able to remove cellular component and, in turn, to avoid rejection on the receiving patient, maintaining unaltered the structural integrity of collagen and fibrous dermal tissue. The Decellularized Dermis has a thickness ranging from 0.8 to 2 mm.

Size

The Decellularized Dermis distributed by Skin Bank ERR can have different size ranging from 4 to 12 cm in length and 3 to 7 cm in width.

Clinical Use

DERMATOLOGY
The Decellularized Dermis finds application as a scaffold in the field of Dermatology for the coverage of chronic skin ulcers as well as for the treatment of non-healing wounds.

ORTHOPEDICS
The Decellularized dermis finds application as a scaffold in the field of Orthopedics for the repair of damaged tissue such as tendon, rotator cuff as well as cartilage.

RECOSTRUTTIVE SURGERY
The Decellularized dermis finds application as a scaffold in the field of Reconstructive Surgery. Currently, several defects of the abdominal wall, such as hernia, are treated with decellularized Dermis produced and distributed by Skin Bank ERR.

BREAST SURGERY
The decellularized dermis finds application as a scaffold in the field of Breast Surgery. Currently, the Decellularized dermis produced and distributed by Skin Bank ERR is used for surgical reconstruction post mastectomy.

DENTISTRY
The Decellularized dermis finds application as a scaffold in the field of Dentistry for reconstruction of soft tissues.

UROLOGY
The Decellularized dermis finds application as a scaffold in the field of Urology. Currently, it is distributed by Skin Bank ERR and used in corporoplasty.

OPHTHALMOLOGY
The decellularized dermis finds application as a scaffold in the field of Ophthalmology. Currently, it is produced and distributed by the Skin Bank ERR for the elongation of the lower eyelid.

Biological characteristics
The De-epidermized dermis (Ded) derived from donors is a biological product that consist only of dermis without the overlying epidermal layers that has a thickness ranging from 0.6 to 1mm.

Size
The Ded distributed by Skin Bank RER can have different size ranging from 3 to 23 cm in length and 3 to 7 cm in width.

Clinical Use
The Ded is widely used as skin substitutes and in skin composite graft techniques. The use of cryo-preserved Ded is particularly effective in the treatment of relapsing chronic ulcers, as well as in traumatic ulcers and in those with full-thickness loss of substance that do not respond to standard medical treatment, but also in vascular, diabetic ulcers with different etiology.

Biological characteristics
The homologous skin derived from donors has a thickness ranging from 0.6 to 0.8 mm and it is composed by epidermal layers and a thin underlying dermal layer.

Size
The homologous skin distributed by Skin Bank ERR can have different size ranging from 12 to 80 cm in length and 3 to 7 cm in width.

Clinical Use
The homologous skin is considered the life-saving in extensive burns and a valid therapeutic option for the treatment of deep burns, chronic ulcers, vascular, traumatic, non-healing wounds, full-thickness loss of substance and osteo-articular injuries of tendon. It decreases the threshold of pain and bacterial contamination and promotes the formation of granulation tissue resulting in spontaneous re-epithelialization in a high percentage of clinical cases.
