How to Apply

Public and private structures operating in the sector of health in the Emilia Romagna region can make a request of amniotic membrane at the Skin Bank ERR after an agreement with the “AUSL della Romagna”. The request of cutaneous tissue can also be performed by structures operating in the sector of health distributed on the national territory if:

• The structure does not have a Skin Bank in its region
• The reference regional Skin Bank of the structure does not have the amount of amniotic membrane required to satisfy its clinical needs at the time of the request and it authorizes tissue distribution from other Skin Banks.

However, an agreement between the structure and “AUSL della Romagna” is required for clinical distribution of amniotic membrane.
The distribution of amniotic membrane for clinical purposes is carried out by the Skin Bank ERR only after that the request of amniotic membrane is sent by fax at the number 0547/394327 at least 24 hours before its clinical use, using the specific form for Skin and De-epidermized dermis or Decellularized Dermis.
It is also required a telephone contact with the Biologists of Skin Bank in order to request amniotic membrane availability. The distribution of amniotic membrane is NOT ensured without a previous telephone contact.
