De-epidermized dermis
Biological characteristics
The De-epidermized dermis (Ded) derived from donors is a biological product that consist only of dermis without the overlying epidermal layers that has a thickness ranging from 0.6 to 1mm.
Size
The Ded distributed by Skin Bank RER can have different size ranging from 3 to 23 cm in length and 3 to 7 cm in width.
Clinical Use
The Ded is widely used as skin substitutes and in skin composite graft techniques. The use of cryo-preserved Ded is particularly effective in the treatment of relapsing chronic ulcers, as well as in traumatic ulcers and in those with full-thickness loss of substance that do not respond to standard medical treatment, but also in vascular, diabetic ulcers with different etiology.
